HAIRSTYLING DIPLOMA

If you have the willingness to learn, a passion for hair, and want to be a part of a rising industry, then the Hairstyling Diploma Program is for you.

National Institute’s Hairstyling Diploma program is 52 weeks in length with extensive theoretical and practical knowledge of the hair sciences, color theory and techniques, product formulations, cutting, hairstyling, hair up do's, party hairstyles, fancy braids, bridal up do's, permanent straightening, new techniques such as ombré and balayage hair colouring, basic and permanent waving, finger waving, and much more!

Our program also covers salon management, teaching you from basics such as appointment scheduling to more advanced topics like running your business in a cost efficient manner, customer service and sales management, and the laws and guidelines of the Province of Ontario pertaining to the salon business. In addition, you will receive great practical experience in our professional salon environment where you will practice on models as well as serve our public clients. The practical experience will help you perfect your skills, receive and apply feedback, and build your self–confidence, preparing you for the real–world. You will practice under the teacher supervision and are required to adhere to high quality and safety standards.

With this program you will be:

  • Job ready within months
  • Learning in a small class with qualified instructors
  • Have opportunities for practical application in our clinic on real clients
  • Attend events and workshops for relationship building & networking with industry partners

Not just that, our students have the opportunity to participate in some of the most amazing and popular beauty events in the industry. Every year, National Institute's Hairstyling students visit the annual ABA beauty and hair show, the biggest beauty show in Canada. In March 2017, our students made a trip to these shows and had the privilege of attending more workshops and seminars of their interest, discovering new products and technology in the industry, trying products, meeting small business suppliers and vendors, and not to mention, shopping with student discounts! These shows are excellent opportunities for our students to network with employers and also gain all the important information they need to start their own beauty businesses.

We often have our brand partners come in to the classroom to offer product demo and workshops to our students as well. Lastly, all our students together recently enjoyed a school picnic in Streetsville, Ontario as a school recreational event. So, we make sure that our students are provided with the best learning experience possible with several opportunities to network, practice, and learn outside of the classroom as well.
