Massage Therapy Students – Practice Opportunities
Toward the end of 2016 and during the first half of 2017, National Institute’s Massage Therapy Diploma Program students went to three outreach events that provided them with an opportunity to network, practice, and demonstrate their skills that they learnt in class under the supervision of the RMT instructor. On December 9, 2016, our students went to the Brampton Beast Ice Hockey Event in Brampton where they had the direct opportunity to meet the players and provide the massage therapy services to them.
Further, on May 26, 2017, our students went to the Canadian Cancer Society’s Relay for Life event in Brampton and to the City of Mississauga’s Health Fair on June 6, 2017 in Mississauga, both of which provided tremendous exposure for our students and amazing networking opportunities with the others in the industry. These outreach events served as great demonstrative and practice opportunities for our students to apply the skills they learnt in class to the real-world. Committed to our student’s enhanced learning experience, we continue to plan more such opportunities for our students so they get the best out of their learning at National Institute.
In the month of August 2017, National Institute’s massage therapy diploma students had the amazing opportunity to go to the Tesla Electric Festival and demonstrate what they have learnt under their RMT instructors. Next, these students rocked at the 2017 Waterdown Artsfest where they received appreciation from the members of the public on their services.
Advanced Aesthetics, Advanced Makeup Artistry & Hairstyling Program Events
Every year, National Institute’s Advanced Aesthetics diploma and Hairstyling diploma students visit the annual ABA beauty and hair show, the biggest beauty shows in Canada. This year as well, our students made a trip to these shows and had the privilege of attending more workshops and seminars of their interest, discovering new products and technology in the industry, trying products, meeting small business suppliers and vendors, and not to mention, shopping with student discounts! These shows are excellent opportunities for our students to network with employers and also gain all the important information they need to start their own beauty businesses. We also welcome our Cosmetology diploma and Makeup Artistry students to these events.
During August 2017, our Advanced Makeup Artistry students also visited the Make Up Forever store and training facility in Toronto and not only enjoyed learning new trends but also shopping for makeup products under right guidance.
Furthermore, our students from the Advanced Aesthetics diploma program traveled to the Dermalogica student event in Toronto for one full day to attend their workshop and network with professionals.
Lastly, all our students together recently enjoyed a school picnic in Streetsville, Ontario as a school recreational event.
