Personal Support Worker (PSW) Certificate Enrolling Now
This program is approved as a vocational program under the Ontario Career Colleges Act, 2005.
As a Personal Support Worker (PSW) you will have the unique responsibility of providing care to clients who are ill, injured, or aging. There is never a boring day on the job, as you will be both a care-giver and companion. Experience the joys of this career in many locations such as care facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, retirement homes, mental health facilities and on-the-go in your clients’ homes.
The National Institute PSW program follows the official NACC Personal Support Worker 2022 DE curriculum. This course meets the requirements to become a Personal Support Worker in Ontario.
PSW Class Length Breakdown
The NACC Personal Support Worker (PSW) certificate course is 23 Weeks (700 hours total). Which will include, at minimum, the following accredited hours:
- 390 hours theory + 10 hours GPA;
- 100 hours of community placement;
- 200 hours of long term care placement.
Entrance Requirements
High School Diploma or Equivalent; 18 Years or Older; English Proficiency.
A Medical Form Completed by a Doctor.
Recent Vulnerable Sector Check & Criminal Record Check.

National Institute’s fast track Personal Support Worker curriculum is approved by the Ontario Ministry of Colleges, Universities, Research Excellence and Security and NACC. You will quickly learn theoretical and practical knowledge from qualified instructors who have extensive experience in Personal Support Work and the Healthcare industry. In addition, you will receive job placement assistance during the program.
Upon successful graduation, you are qualified to be a Personal Support Worker (PSW) in Ontario.
