This program is approved as a vocational program under the Ontario Career Colleges Act, 2005.
As a professional hairstylist or barber you will be a master at cutting, colouring, and styling hair for any occasion. This recession resilient career allows you to work in a wide-range of locations and industries; from the salon, to fashion & film, to on-the-go as an entrepreneur.
Upon successful completion of the National Institute Hairstylist Diploma, you will obtain the required Skilled Trades Ontario school training component from a Private Career College (1500 hours) – allowing you a direct pathway to a Hairstylist Certificate of Qualification. Entrance Requirements
High School Diploma or Equivalent; 18 Years or Older; English Proficiency. Other prerequisites may be required, please contact us with questions.

Hairstyling course students will receive hands-on training with mannequins and real salon clients. You will participate in career building activities for hairstylists such as community outreach, field trips, on-campus salon & lab, industry & employer networking, and a special visit to the annual ABA beauty and hair show.
The Hairstyling curriculum is approved by the Ontario Ministry of Colleges, Universities, Research Excellence and Security. Skilled Trades Ontario accepts our Hairstylist Diploma as the educational requirement for your licensing, which is 1500 hours total. You will be on a direct pathway to obtaining your Hairstylist Certificate of Qualification in Ontario.
